Lying in a bed
made for someone
far more deserving of rest.
If only the context
wasn't so depressing
this cigarette would signify
more than defeat.
This loss was comforting
for a little while,
but pillows don't compare
to the thighs that keep
such a precious thing
moving through the silence.
